"Shaitaan" is a gripping supernatural thriller that explores the boundaries between good and evil, where the line between reality and the paranormal is often blurred. Set in a rural town haunted by a malevolent entity, the film follows a group of individuals who find themselves caught in a deadly game with a powerful demon. As they confront their own darkest fears, they must come together to stop the demon before it consumes them all.
The story takes place in the small, isolated village of Kundarpur, which has long been plagued by strange occurrences and unexplained disappearances. The village is surrounded by dense forests, and its inhabitants have lived in fear of an ancient evil believed to haunt the land. The legend speaks of a malevolent spirit, Shaitaan, a demon that preys on the souls of those who venture too close to the forbidden forest.
Aditya (played by Vijay Deverakonda), a young and ambitious journalist from the city, arrives in Kundarpur to investigate the strange events that have plagued the village for decades. Initially dismissing the supernatural rumors as mere superstition, Aditya begins to uncover a darker truth about the town's past. He learns about a series of mysterious deaths and disappearances, all linked to the cursed forest.
While staying with an elderly woman, Savitri (played by Neena Gupta), Aditya becomes aware of the chilling folklore surrounding the demon. According to Savitri, the demon Shaitaan had been sealed away centuries ago by an ancient priesthood, but the seal has weakened over time, allowing the demon to slowly regain its strength. Those who dared to defy the curse or disturb the demon's resting place were condemned to die in horrific ways. As the curse grows stronger, the villagers are caught in a cycle of terror and despair.
