Maa follows Ambika, a devoted mother whose life is shattered when her husband Shubankar dies under mysterious circumstances just after inheriting his ancestral home in the village of Chandrapur, West Bengal. Ambika and her young daughter, Shweta, travel to Chandrapur to sell off the estate—but the place is steeped in dark folklore. Villagers whisper of a curse tied to a demonic force named Aamsaja that demands sacrifice of girls after they have their first period. As girls begin disappearing mysteriously, Ambika realizes her daughter is the demon’s next target. Haunted by ancestral wrongs—female infanticide, rituals, and a haunted tree tied to the evil—Ambika must confront the supernatural threat. In an intense climax, she undergoes a transformation, channeling the power of Goddess Kali, to rescue her child and stop the cycle of evil.
