Elio (2025) is a Pixar animated sci-fi adventure about an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solís, who is orphaned and lives with his Aunt Olga. Elio feels alone and dreams of something more — especially making contact with aliens. One day, he accidentally sends a message into space and is taken to an intergalactic council known as the Communiverse, which mistakes him for Earth’s ambassador. While navigating this strange, cosmic world, Elio must mediate a brewing crisis with a warlord named Lord Grigon, whose estranged son Glordon becomes Elio’s unexpected ally. Along the way, Elio confronts his own sense of belonging, learns about loss, connection, and what it means to be seen. Ultimately, he brokers peace, returns home changed, and embraces both his Earthly relationships and his place in the wider universe.
