Yuri, a shy farm girl living in the remote, myth-steeped Carpathian village of Carpathia, is taught to fear the nocturnal, primate-like creatures known as Ochi. These fears are instilled by her father, Maxim, a hardened Ochi hunter.
One night, she discovers a wounded baby Ochi left behind by its pack and forms a protective bond with it. Her compassion propels her on a bold journey to reunite the creature with its family—defying her father's beliefs, village prejudice, and confronting her own fears.
