Ali Mitchell (Sophia Bush) leads what appears to be a peaceful suburban life with her husband Jeff (Chris Johnson) and teenage daughter Katie (Amiah Miller). Their world is upended when a stranger, Tom Truby (Chris Carmack), arrives claiming that fifteen years ago the girls were switched at birth at the hospital—meaning Katie is not their biological child.
As Ali and Jeff grapple with this shocking revelation, Tom becomes increasingly obsessive toward Katie. Tensions escalate as hidden secrets surface and Tom’s behavior becomes dangerous. Meanwhile, Liv (Grace Aiello Antczak), the other switched child, struggles with her place in both families.
Ali attempts to recover Katie after a kidnapping orchestrated by Tom. In a tense remote cabin showdown, Ali and Katie fight back—Katie soon escapes and Liv intervenes. Ultimately Liv shoots Tom to save her adoptive family. The film concludes with reconciliation between the two girls, both finding belonging in a shared family, even after the trauma.
