Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In (2024) is a Hong Kong martial arts epic directed by Soi Cheang, set in the 1980s within the notorious Kowloon Walled City. The film is based on Yuyi's novel City of Darkness and Andy Seto's manhua of the same name.
Chan Lok-kwan (Raymond Lam), a refugee from mainland China, arrives in Hong Kong seeking a better life. To avoid deportation, he participates in underground bare-knuckle fights. After winning a match, he steals drugs from Mr. Big (Sammo Hung), a local Triad boss, and flees to the Kowloon Walled City. There, he encounters Cyclone (Louis Koo), the area's crime lord, and his second-in-command, Shin (Philip Ng). Despite initial hostility, Lok-kwan forms bonds with Cyclone's gang, including the masked doctor AV (Tony Wu). As tensions rise, Lok-kwan must navigate loyalty, survival, and the city's complex power dynamics.
