Serena and the Ratts 2012

Serena and the Ratts is a 2012 indie action-drama film directed by Kevin James Barry, blending elements of science fiction, time travel, and assassin intrigue. The story centers on Serena Donovan (played by Evalena Marie), a young woman trained as a killer-for-hire under the mentorship of a shadowy figure known as "The Boss" (Jonathan Thomson).

Serena and her partner Leonard (Dave Neal) are contracted to thwart a group of scientists who have discovered time travel and plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler in the past. Their mission is complicated by the involvement of the RATTs (Researchers Against Time Travel), an underground group that believes altering history could lead to unintended consequences. As Serena delves deeper into the assignment, she grapples with moral dilemmas and questions about trust and reality.

The film employs a non-linear narrative, presenting events out of chronological order to mirror the complexities of time travel. While the movie has been praised for its ambition and thought-provoking themes, some critics have noted its low-budget constraints and uneven performances. Nonetheless, it offers a unique take on the assassin genre, incorporating philosophical questions about fate and free will.
