The story begins with young Sergei Kravinoff, son of ruthless Russian mob boss Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe). During a hunting expedition in Africa, Sergei is mauled by a lion. A drop of the lion's blood enters his system, granting him enhanced animalistic abilities .
As an adult, Sergei becomes a vigilante known as Kraven, targeting those who exploit animals and the environment. His mission leads him to confront his father, who refuses to pay a ransom when Sergei's half-brother, Dmitri (Fred Hechinger), is kidnapped. With the help of Calypso (Ariana DeBose), a mysterious woman with her own agenda, Kraven embarks on a perilous journey to rescue Dmitri and dismantle his father's criminal empire .
