Batwara 1947 is a historical drama set during the Partition of India in 1947, when millions of people were forced to leave their homes and cross newly created borders. The story follows Sikander Mirza and his family as they migrate from India to Lahore after losing their home and everything familiar to them. After arriving in Pakistan, the family is given a large haveli abandoned by a Hindu family that had fled in the opposite direction. As violence, fear, and uncertainty spread around them, the Mirzas struggle to build a new life while confronting the painful consequences of Partition. The film focuses on family, humanity, displacement, and the hope of survival during one of the most tragic periods in the subcontinent's history.
