In Paris, a group of skilled but disavowed intelligence operatives — former agents with no official ties, known as “ronin” — are hired by a mysterious woman to steal a heavily guarded briefcase wanted by several factions. Among them is Sam (Robert De Niro), sharp, calm and suspicious, who begins questioning who really controls the mission. The team plans and executes high-risk operations, facing betrayals, shootouts, and a thrilling high-speed chase through the streets of France. As loyalties crack, one member double-crosses the group and escapes with the case, forcing Sam and Vincent (Jean Reno) into a relentless pursuit.
