In The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025), paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) come out of a kind of retirement when the Smurl family, plagued by a terrifying demonic presence, calls for their help. The Smurls’ home is haunted by three malicious spirits and a powerful demon trapped in an antique mirror. Their daughter, Judy, who has inherited her mother’s psychic sensitivity, becomes the target of possession. As tension builds, Ed, Lorraine, and Judy face increasingly violent supernatural disturbances. In a climactic exorcism, Lorraine and Judy join hands on the mirror while Ed prays — Judy confronts the demon directly, declaring it powerless. The mirror shatters, the demon is banished, and the Warrens take the broken mirror to their occult museum. The movie ends on an emotional note: Judy marries her boyfriend Tony, and Ed and Lorraine share a vision of a peaceful future together, closing out their legacy.
