In 55 (2020), a teenage orphan nicknamed “55” works as a pickpocket in Mumbai, part of a gang where all the boys go by numbers instead of names. When he steals a wallet from a commuter and later visits the owner’s address, he realizes how his crime has real human consequences — especially after the victim’s daughter is crushed by what happened. This encounter shakes 55’s moral core, forcing him to question his life of crime, his loyalty to his gang boss, and whether he can change his fate in the unforgiving streets of the city.
