Korameenu (2022) is a Telugu drama-thriller set in the fishermen’s colony of Jalaripeta. The story revolves around Koti (Anand Ravi), a carefree, happy-go-lucky driver who works for Karuna (Harish Uthaman), a powerful and arrogant local strongman. Romance, rivalry, and power play enter the picture when both Koti and Karuna fall for Meenakshi (Kishori Dhatrak), leading to escalating tension between master and driver. Into this fraught dynamic steps Meesala Raju (Shatru), a newly transferred and upright police officer whose signature moustache is shaved off in an attack—this incident becomes a spark for his investigation into the criminal underbelly. As Raju digs into Koti and Karuna’s operations, the threads of identity, dignity, ego, and revenge intertwine, and secrets from the past are revealed. Ultimately, the film builds toward a payoff that leverages small clues dropped early on (even something as innocuous as a casual line in conversation) to bring the conflicts and truth to light.
