T-34 (2018) is a Russian World War II action-drama directed by Aleksey Sidorov. The film follows the story of Junior Lieutenant Nikolay Ivushkin, a courageous Soviet tank commander, and his daring escape from a German POW camp using a restored T-34 tank.
In November 1941, near Moscow, Ivushkin is assigned to command a damaged T-34 tank to delay the German advance. Despite being outnumbered, he and his crew manage to destroy several German tanks before being captured by Hauptmann Klaus Jäger. Three years later, in 1944, Jäger, now an SS Standartenführer, recruits Ivushkin and other Soviet POWs to serve as live targets in a training exercise for German tank cadets. Unbeknownst to the Germans, Ivushkin and his crew discover live ammunition hidden in the tank and plan a daring escape. With the help of Anya, a Russian translator, they break out of the camp, leading to a thrilling chase across the countryside as they attempt to reach Soviet lines.
