Squid Game Season 2 (2024) continues the harrowing journey of Seong Gi-hun as he seeks to dismantle the deadly games that once ensnared him. Set several years after the events of Season 1, the series delves deeper into themes of morality, power, and the human psyche under extreme circumstances.
After winning the previous games, Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) is haunted by the trauma and the knowledge of the game's existence. Determined to end the cycle, he forgoes a new life in the United States and returns to South Korea with a mission: to infiltrate and dismantle the organization behind the games from within.
Gi-hun's quest leads him to re-enter the games, where he encounters new participants, each with their own desperate reasons for joining. Among them is a mysterious new Player 001, later revealed to be Hwang In-ho, the Front Man, who has entered the game to manipulate outcomes and challenge Gi-hun's resolve.
