The narrative is framed by Rafiki, who recounts Mufasa's tale to Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa adding their characteristic humor. Mufasa, separated from his parents by a devastating flood, is rescued by Taka, a young lion prince destined to become Scar. Despite King Obasi's disapproval, Taka's father, Mufasa is raised alongside Taka, forging a brotherly bond.
As they mature, tensions arise when both lions develop feelings for Sarabi, who favors Mufasa. Taka's jealousy leads him to betray Mufasa by aligning with Kiros, the leader of the Outsiders. However, during a climactic battle, Taka's remorse prompts him to save Mufasa, resulting in the scar that earns him his infamous name.
