Moana 2 2024

Moana 2 (2024) is the animated sequel to Disney’s 2016 hit, bringing back Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui. Set three years after the original, the film follows Moana on a daring voyage to restore a lost island and reconnect the ocean’s people.​

Moana, now an experienced navigator, receives a vision from her ancestor Tautai Vasa warning that the people of Motunui face extinction unless she raises the sunken island of Motufetu. This island once united the ocean's cultures but was submerged by the storm god Nalo, who sought dominion over mortals.​

Determined to save her people, Moana assembles a crew: craftswoman Loto, historian Moni, grumpy farmer Kele, and her loyal pets Pua and Heihei. They set sail following a comet's path toward Motufetu. Meanwhile, Maui, seeking redemption from a past conflict with Nalo, is captured by Nalo's enforcer, Matangi.​

Moana's crew encounters the Kakamora pirates, who reveal their own suffering due to Motufetu's loss. With the help of a defector named Kotu, they infiltrate Matangi's lair, rescue Maui, and learn that Matangi is disillusioned with serving Nalo. She aids their escape and directs them toward Nalo's realm.
