Badass Ravi Kumar (2025) is a Hindi-language musical action film directed by Keith Gomes, marking his feature film directorial debut. Produced by Himesh Reshammiya under Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, the film serves as a spin-off to the 2014 movie The Xposé, with Reshammiya reprising his role as the titular character.
Set in 1989, the story follows Ravi Kumar, a maverick cop known for his unorthodox methods and defiance of authority. Suspended for his insubordination, Ravi is unofficially tasked with a critical mission: to retrieve a microfilm containing sensitive information about Indian secret agents. This microfilm has fallen into the hands of Syed Bashir, a redheaded Pakistani operative, and Carlos Pedro Panther, a dance-loving don based in Muscat. Complicating matters, Laila, who possesses the microfilm after killing her husband, negotiates with Carlos for its exchange.
Interpol officer Mahavir Ahuja informs the Delhi police about Jagawar's plot against India, suggesting the need for a skilled cop—Ravi Kumar. Despite his suspension, Ravi is brought back into action to thwart the impending threat. As Ravi delves deeper, he uncovers personal connections: Jagawar is his uncle, and he had previously killed Jagawar's son, Sooraj, who was guilty of heinous crimes. Ravi's personal history, including his father's suicide and his brother's death, intertwines with his mission, adding emotional depth to his character.
The narrative unfolds across various international locations, including India, Oman, and the United Kingdom, as Ravi confronts multiple adversaries, including Raftaar Khan and Carlos. In a climactic sequence, Ravi rescues his first love, Madhubala, Laila's sister, from Carlos's captivity and eliminates Carlos, who was behind his family's tragedies. The film concludes with a post-credits scene where Carlos's brother, Carlis Pedro Panther, vows revenge, but Ravi remains undeterred.
