Azrael is a 2024 American action-horror film directed by E.L. Katz and written by Simon Barrett. Set years after a post-apocalyptic event resembling the Rapture, the world is now inhabited by survivors who have renounced speech, believing it to be sinful. Azrael and her partner, Kenan, are part of a forest-dwelling cult that enforces this vow of silence, with members having surgically removed their vocal cords. When Azrael and Kenan are expelled from the cult, they are captured by its leaders, including Josephine and Miriam. The cultists attempt to sacrifice Azrael to demonic creatures known as the Burned Ones, but she escapes, leading to a series of confrontations. Azrael battles both the cultists and the Burned Ones, ultimately returning to the cult's encampment to seek vengeance. The film culminates in a confrontation where Azrael discovers that Miriam's newborn child is a goat-like creature resembling the Antichrist.
