Stree 2 is a thrilling sequel to the highly popular 2018 horror-comedy Stree. The film takes the story forward with a new mystery surrounding the supernatural entity, Stree, and explores darker, more intense horror elements while maintaining the comedic charm that made the original film a hit. As the town of Chanderi grapples with fresh encounters of paranormal activity, a new set of characters — both old and new — must face the terrifying legend of Stree, which seems to have evolved into something more dangerous than ever.
The film begins a few years after the events of Stree. Vicky (played by Rajkummar Rao), Pankaj (played by Abhishek Banerjee), and Rukhmini (played by Shraddha Kapoor) have returned to their normal lives after successfully saving their town from the vengeful spirit of Stree. However, despite the victory, strange occurrences begin happening once again in Chanderi, leading the trio to suspect that Stree's wrath may not be over.
The film opens with mysterious disappearances of young men in the nearby towns, mirroring the same pattern of events from before. The legends about Stree, a ghostly woman who kidnaps men, return to haunt the townsfolk, but this time, the nature of her vengeance seems different. Stree is now no longer just a spirit seeking retribution for her own death, but has become more cunning, more vengeful, and more powerful. She has learned to manipulate and torment people from afar, leaving the town in an atmosphere of fear and suspicion.
